This Blueberry Cobbler Protein Smoothie Bowl is basically what I make when I want a smoothie that actually feels like a full meal.
The base is thick and creamy from frozen blueberries, fat-free Greek yogurt, skim milk, vanilla protein powder, and chia seeds. Then I load the top with fresh blueberries, vanilla protein granola, sliced almonds or pecans, and cinnamon so you get some crunch instead of drinking everything through a straw.
The entire bowl comes out to roughly 100 grams of protein, depending on the exact protein powder, yogurt, and granola you use. It is definitely a big smoothie bowl, but that is the point. This is more of a full high-protein breakfast or post-workout meal than a light snack.
Why You'll Love This Smoothie Bowl
Around 100g of Protein: Greek yogurt, skim milk, protein powder, chia seeds, and protein granola all contribute protein.
Thick Enough for a Spoon: Frozen blueberries and Greek yogurt keep this much thicker than a regular blueberry protein smoothie.
Blueberry Cobbler Flavor: Vanilla, cinnamon, blueberries, granola, and nuts give it that blueberry cobbler feel without actually baking anything.
Lots of Texture: Fresh blueberries, crunchy granola, and sliced nuts keep every bite from feeling the same.
Easy Breakfast: Add everything to a blender, pour it into a bowl, and pile on the toppings.

How to Make a Blueberry Protein Smoothie Bowl
Add the frozen blueberries, skim milk, Greek yogurt, protein powder, chia seeds, vanilla, sweetener, and salt to a high-speed blender.
Blend until completely smooth and thick.
Because this is meant to be a smoothie bowl, I would avoid immediately pouring in extra milk if the blender struggles. Stop, scrape down the sides, and blend again first. Adding too much liquid can quickly turn it into something you need to drink instead of eat with a spoon.
Pour the blueberry mixture into one large bowl.
Top with the fresh blueberries, vanilla protein granola, sliced almonds or pecans, and ground cinnamon. Finish with a little fresh mint if you want.
Serve immediately.

How This Smoothie Bowl Gets So Much Protein
Most of the protein comes from three ingredients: vanilla protein powder, fat-free Greek yogurt, and skim milk.
Two scoops of protein powder contribute roughly 48 grams of protein when using a powder with about 24 grams per scoop.
A cup of fat-free Greek yogurt adds around another 20-plus grams, and skim milk contributes roughly 8 grams.
Then the chia seeds, protein granola, nuts, and blueberries add a little more.
That puts the entire bowl right around the 100-gram protein range, although the exact number depends on the brands you use.
How to Keep a Smoothie Bowl Thick
Frozen blueberries are important here.
Using fresh blueberries in the blender would give you more liquid and a thinner texture, which is why I save the fresh berries for the topping.
Greek yogurt also makes a big difference. It adds more body than milk alone and helps the finished bowl hold the granola and toppings on the surface.
If your smoothie bowl is still too thin, let it sit for a few minutes. The chia seeds will continue absorbing some of the moisture and can make the base slightly thicker.
If it is too thick to blend, add skim milk just a tablespoon or two at a time.

Blueberry Cobbler Topping Ideas
The toppings are what make this feel more like blueberry cobbler than a basic blueberry protein smoothie.
I use vanilla protein granola for crunch, fresh blueberries, cinnamon, and either sliced almonds or pecans.
Pecans give it a little more of that traditional cobbler-dessert flavor, while almonds keep it slightly lighter and crunchier.
You could also add:
- A little extra cinnamon
- Crushed graham crackers
- A small drizzle of honey
- Extra granola
- A spoonful of Greek yogurt on top
Just remember that additional toppings will change the calories and macros.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I Put Protein Powder in a Smoothie Bowl?
Yes. Protein powder works especially well in smoothie bowls because it adds protein while also making the blended base a little thicker.
I use vanilla protein powder here because vanilla works naturally with blueberries, cinnamon, and granola.
What Protein Goes Well With Blueberries?
Vanilla is my first choice.
It keeps the blueberry flavor noticeable and gives the bowl more of a blueberry cobbler or blueberry-vanilla flavor.
Can I Make This With Fresh Blueberries?
Use frozen blueberries in the smoothie base for the thickest texture.
Fresh blueberries are better as a topping.
Can I Make This Ahead?
You can prepare the toppings ahead of time, but I would blend the smoothie bowl shortly before eating.
Once blended and refrigerated, smoothie bowls tend to thin as the frozen fruit melts.

Final Thoughts
This is definitely not a tiny smoothie bowl.
I wanted something that could work as an actual meal and get a huge amount of protein in at once, and this does exactly that.
The blueberry-vanilla base is thick and creamy, but the granola, fresh berries, cinnamon, and nuts are what really make it taste more like blueberry cobbler.
